After visiting Rome and Sorrento for a week, we met Mario and my brother’s family in Amalfi. We all then spent a wonderful week in the area with Mario as our guide. Our base of operations was Mario’s beautiful rental home, Casa Grazia. The views of the town and the surrounding mountains from the two terraces on the home were stunning. We were especially fortunate that Mario made some dinners for us composed of fresh, local foods. They were delicious!.

Among the great experiences we had that week were visiting Amalfi and Ravello, and further south along the coast, Agropoli and Castellabate. They are all absolutely beautiful coastal towns. Mario took us to places that I think not many tourists are privileged to see, such as a private tour of a small winery, Cantina Rizzo in the mountain town of Fellito and a hike through the Cilento National Park.
Mario’s love and appreciation for this beautiful part of Italy added immensely to our experience. We cannot express in words how special this experience was for our family. We would like to thank Mario for his help and guidance in planning this trip and then turning it into such a culturally rich vacation that was filled with new sights, flavors and experiences.
