The town of Laurino, an ancient Cilentan village, is situated at the heart of the National Park of Cilento and Vallo di Diano, in a panoramic location on the high valley of the Calore River.

The verdant surroundings make the town of Laurino an ideal location for tourists who choose the Cilentan hinterland.
Within the lush vegetation flows the Calore River, among the most important rivers of Cilento, whose source begins at Cervati Mountain.

The town of Laurino, however, that styles itself on its title of City of art, also has history and religion. Here, the first printing-workshop was founded. In Laurino you can also find the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria Maggiore of Laurino, the most important ecclesiastical monument of the entire region, and the Longobard castle, built around 1100, and whose external remains are all that is left of a time gone by.
